[CHI] Aerial Yoga + A Conversation on Asian American Identity

  • AIR® Aerial Fitness 2217 North Clybourn Avenue Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

Join The Cosmos in Chicago as we slow down our thoughts and get reflective through the practice of aerial yoga, followed by food and a community conversation on Asian American identities.

This event is for all self-identified Asian womxn to come relax, stretch, and build community. We aim to create a safe, dedicated space to get in tune with our bodies and to ask questions and talk openly about our struggles, anxieties, hopes, dreams, and experiences.

Agenda:

  • 12:45-1pm: Arrival

  • 1-1:20pm: Introductions and Community Time

  • 1:20-2pm: Aerial Yoga

  • 2-3pm: Lunch and Conversation

No prior yoga or aerial experience necessary. This will be a beginner level mini aerial yoga class focused on using the aerial hammock to stretch our muscles, tune in with our hearts, and ready ourselves for sharing with our community. The aerial yoga portion will be led by Shengxiao "Sole" Yu, Cosmos-Chicago Co-Ambassador and AIR-certified aerial fitness and yoga instructor.

What to Bring:

  • Dress in comfortable, yoga-like clothing that covers past your knees.

  • We encourage guests to bring your own reusable water bottle and utensils for lunch (bowl or plate, fork, spoon).

  • We will be sitting on thick yoga mats for the last portion of the event and invite guests to bring your own pillows and blankets.
